Submit your quote request only when you are ready to make a purchase or lease commitment. If you are not going to be ready to make a commitment for a while, wait and submit your quote request just prior to that date.

If you want rustproofing, extended warranties, etc, then ask for them in the comments as you set up your request. Trying to negotiate these when you get into the dealership may result in higher charges overall because dealers will no longer be competing. So let the system do the work and you will get the best overall results.

When asked to set a quoting deadline, do not set too long a deadline to quote. Minimum 2 days, maximum 4 days. Anything more and your request will not be taken seriously or with any sense of urgency.
